  • What is the local demand for employees, who are the potential local employers (or regional/national)?
  • Why did you choose this career?
  • What are the potential challenges or obstacles that I must overcome to enter this career (for example, with nursing there is a great deal of science and chemistry. Am I confident in this area?)


Document Requirements:

Follow all page formatting guidelines including the document header, followed by information containing your name, instructor name, course, date and title to begin your paper. Use correct margins and line spacing as well as a first line paragraph indent of .5 inches. Use the Calibri or Times New Roman font, 12-point font size.

  • Include parenthetical citations in the document. A minimum of three sources is required for this paper referenced as citations (Note: Wikipedia is not an acceptable source).  These citations must be created using the Insert Citation command in Microsoft’s Word 2013.  Each one of your sources must have a citation reference in the document text body.  One of the sources must be Career Coach (see the link to the ” Libguide Careers” in this folder to find Career Coach).
  • Create a correctly formatted Works Cited page on a separate page (page 4 or 5) containing your research sources. Do not use a Built-In Bibliography style. Use the insert Bibliography command at the bottom of the Bibliography Command on the References Tab. Sources should be included in Manage Sources feature of Word on the References Tab.
  • Document length—minimum of three full pages
