Social Stigma as a Barrier to School-Based Child Feeding Program Participation in a Rural Applachian Community

I am doing a qualitative study that mixes autoethnography and ethnographic interview. I have personal experiences in this community as a child whose family qualified for child feeding program assistance, a child feeding program volunteer, and the parent of a child who qualified for assistance. I plan to interview 3-5 parents in the same community who qualify for child feeding program assistance about their own experiences and look for patterns. The theoretical framework is social stigma theory, based on Stigma: Notes on the Management of Spoiled Identity by Erving Goffman.
