I am a post graduate (MSc) student in the School of Business, University of Leicester. I am conducting a research for my dissertation. I would appreciate your assistance as an employee in the hospitality sector in answering the following questions in relation to the research topic ‘’Drivers of Motivation among Managers and Workers in the Hospitality Sector of the Turks and Caicos Islands: A study of Human Resource Managers and Employees’ Perception.’’

The interview will take up to 30-45 minutes and your responses will be recorded so the researcher can transcribe them for an in-depth data analysis. Your information will be used solely for this research and for the completion of the dissertation after which the data will be deleted.

3. What are your roles/responsibilities carried out at this hotel?

4. From your experience working as an employee, to what extent do you believe motivated staff perform well? Please explain your answer.

5. What are some of the strategies that you have noticed implemented at this hotel to motivate workers? Please include both monetary and non-monetary ways.

6. How effective would you say these strategies have been?

7. Have you recognized any noticeable changes with performance in yourself or with colleagues since the implementation of these motivational strategies?

8. Would you recommend monetary incentive or non-monetary incentive as a motivational strategy? Please explain why or why not?

9. Are there any strategies implemented by HR managers to assess/gauge employees’ motivation in the workplace? Do they run surveys, hold monthly meetings or use any other methods?

10. Which other motivational strategies would you recommend to HM mangers to assist with enhancing performance of employees at this hotel?
